We should all have a place in our hearts and mind where we never feel old, because on balance that's a very good thing. It's one thing to feel old physically, but the real problem is feeling old in mind and spirit. We should continue to feel young while at the same time acknowledging physical reality that tells us some activities and lifestyle habits need to be changed as we grow older. One funny aspect of the gap between real and perceived age is Facebook contact with classmates and friends you haven't seen for many years. There's a tendency to think of them when they were teens or in their early twenties, but of course that is not true at all. We've all lived our lives and we are all pretty far removed from our youth. It's a little disconcerting to realize that you look as old to them as they look to you.
