The Star Trek franchise predicts a utopia on Earth after a devastating nuclear war and a timely visit by Vulcans. Sad to say, I think Robert Heinlein's prognostications were more accurate: he predicted an authoritarian theocracy arising in the United States, and it's rather scary how close we are coming to such a situation. Hopefully we can avoid it. And whatever happens, I doubt the Vulcans are coming.
