Interesting. I’ve often wondered if something like this could happen to movie actors. Couldn’t digital images become so realistic that real actors would be rendered obsolete? We’ve always had cartoon movie stars such as Mickey Mouse, but what if John Wayne could be realistically recreated on the screen? Or a totally new virtual actor, thus avoiding legal problems? Could studios resist the financial savings that would result from in-house creation of such virtual stars?
