I'm sorry the man had issues and killed himself, but his problems were brought on by his own poor judgement. If you win that amount of money, you spend a small portion of it --- very carefully! --- on a few items you really need or want. Put the rest in the bank or investments and live off the interest and dividends without touching the principle. Sound financial advice is needed for some of the intracacies of managing such wealth, but overall it isn't rocket science. It's more a matter of emotional maturity and good judgement.
