I have totally lost confidence in the ability or willingness of Republicans to govern this nation in a (small-d) democratic manner. Since third party candidates virtually never win, that leaves the Democratic party as the only viable choice. If a Democrat is not performing well in office, then we need a different Democrat. The last thing we need is a Republican in any position of authority. The Republican party as it is presently constitued needs to be totally marginalized. I know that is not going to happen, but that is what should happen.
