I have never understood why anyone would be opposed to living forever. I suppose if your life situation is really bad then it makes sense to want it to end in oblivion. But most of us get by okay and things are supposed to be better on the other side, unless you've been such a dick that you end up in hell. I'm perfectly okay with my life continuing indefinitely.

Having said that, I am not impressed by the skepticism of afterlife deniers nor the dogmatism of eternal life enthusiasts. The bottom line is that we just don't know if there is life after death. From the perspective of this mortal coil, it may appear that everything ends at death, but to believe that we understand all there is about the matter is sheer human arrogance. All the certainty coming from both sides of the issue is just baloney.
