Evangelicals practice hypocrisy in its purest form. They have turned against Trump only because he endorsed various losing Republican candidates. They knew that with Trump from the beginning they were making a deal with the devil, but they did it because they saw no better alternative. Now that they have alternatives --- most notably DeSantis, perhaps some others --- they suddenly claim to see Trump for what he is.
